What are Veneers?
Veneers are wafer-thin custom made shells of tooth colored materials designed to cover the entire front surface of your teeth. Veneers are used to improve the appearance of your teeth. The Veneers are glued to the front of your teeth changing the color, size, shape or length of your teeth.
What dental problems do veneers fix?

What are Veneers made of?
Veneers can be made of porcelain or resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers are better at resisting stains compared to resin composite veneers. Porcelain veneers also mimic the light reflecting properties of your natural teeth; however resin composite veneers are thinner and require less removal of the surface of your natural teeth before placement.
What is the procedure?
Getting veneers usually requires 2 trips to your dentist.
On your first visit your dentist will examine your teeth to make sure that veneers are appropriate for you. Your dentist may also take an x-ray and will take dental impressions. Your dentist will then prepare your teeth for your veneers. To prepare a tooth for a veneer, your dentist will remove about 1/2 millimeter of enamel from the tooth surface, which is an amount nearly equal to the thickness of the veneer that will be added to the tooth surface. Next, your dentist will make an impression of your teeth. This impression is sent out to a dental laboratory, and your veneers will be made.
Your 2nd visit will be placement of the veneers. Before the veneers are permanently cemented to your teeth, your dentist will temporarily place it on your tooth to examine its fit and color. He or she will repeatedly remove and trim the veneer as needed to achieve the proper fit; the veneer color can be adjusted with the shade of cement to be used. Next, to prepare your tooth to receive the veneer, your tooth will be cleaned, polished, and etched — which roughens the tooth to allow for a strong bonding process. Special cement is applied to the veneer and the veneer is then placed on your teeth. Once properly positioned on your teeth, your dentist will apply a special light beam to the dental veneer, which activates chemicals in the cement, causing it to harden or cure very quickly. The final steps involve removing any excess cement, evaluating your bite and making any final adjustments in the veneers as necessary
