More of world people have some degree of gum disease, many of them unknowingly. That is a lot of people. Gum disease is a very concerning oral condition that we would far rather prevent than have to treat. Once infection begins, it never really heals and ongoing care to stop the progression of gum infection becomes quite expensive.

Bad breath and sensitive gums are treatable, but they pale in comparison to bleeding gums. Bleeding gums are a big deal, because of the long term damage it can inflict. If your face was bleeding, you would seek treatment. Your gums are no different and way too often the“silent” symptoms lead to the larger health issues.

GUM DISEASE IS PREVENTABLE
Gum disease is preventable, but it is incredibly difficult to cure once the infection begins. The best strategy is to prevent. We encourage all of our patients to brush 2 times daily for 2 minutes each session, floss daily, and to visit us every 6 months. If mild signs of gum disease develop between visits, immediate care is advised. 

TREATING GUM DISEASE
Every treatment is unique to the individual. This is true both for the prevention and the treatment of gum disease. If a patient has risk factors for gum disease, we may recommend visiting more frequently. When gum disease has been detected then treatment will address the severity of the condition. Our initial therapy with our experienced dental hygienists is a deep clean to remove toxins on teeth and root surfaces under a local anesthetic. Once you are relaxed and comfortable:
